Russian Folklore

A collection of folklore from Russia with morals for kids and adult. Feel free to share them.

Russia is the largest country in the world; its total area is 17,075,200 square kilometres. Russia's territorial expansion was achieved largely in the late 16th century under the Cossack Yermak Timofeyevich during the reign of Ivan the Terrible, at a time when competing city-states in the western regions of Russia had banded together to form one country. The name Russia is derived from Rus', a medieval state populated mostly by the East Slavs.

In a country, there is a king who is very happy to listen to fairy tales. When he was little, the king was accustomed to listening to fairy tales from palace tellers. The king cannot sleep without listening to fairy tales.
