Weighing Elephants (China)

Once upon a time, the King of India & the Emperor of China visited each other.

They also exchange gifts.

The king of India gives a gift in the form of an elephant.

The emperor of China became confused about what the equivalent of an elephant to the King of India was for giving.

The Chinese emperor did not know how heavy the elephant was.

The Chinese emperor then made a contest to weigh the weight of the elephant. "Whoever is able to weigh an elephant, he will give me very many prizes."

The Chinese people flocked to the competition to weigh the elephants because they were attracted by the great gift from their King.

But no one was able to weigh the weight of the elephant.

Until finally the crown prince of the Chinese emperor came to see his father.

He said that he knew how to weigh an elephant.

The crown prince of the Chinese Emperor is still 7 years old. "Father, I knows how to weigh an elephant." said the crown prince.

The Chinese emperor actually was amused to hear his son was able to weigh an elephant.

Out of love for his son, the Chinese emperor was willing to listen to his little son's proposal. "How do you weigh an elephant, my son?" asked the Emperor of China.

"Daddy provided a big boat on the river. Put the elephant into the boat. Put a sign on the outside of the boat, so we can find out how many parts of the boat go into the water. Next, remove the elephant. Next, Dad put the bricks into the boat until the boat's body enters the river water to the elephant's water level. Next Dad could weigh the number of bricks on the boat. The weight of the brick is the same as the weight of an elephant. " answered the Crown Prince.

The Chinese emperor with the whole palace was amazed by the intelligence of the crown prince.

Even though the Crown Prince is still 7 years old.

The Chinese emperor finally recognized the intelligence of his son.

He immediately ordered the palace warriors to weigh the elephants using the method of the crown prince's proposal.

Message from the story: Science will simplify our lives.
