One day, Malin asked permission from his mother to leave. With a heavy heart, his mother allowed Malin to leave.
Overseas, Malin worked as a crew. Because of Malin's diligent nature. Rich merchants who owned the ship were happy with Malin. So Malin was married to his beautiful daughter. Malin became a wealthy merchant. He has a large ship with many crew members. Malin finally plans to sail with his wife.
One day, Malin's ship docked at the dock of his hometown. Malin's elderly and sickly mother heard from her neighbor that Malin had come to the village in a large boat. Malin's mother who had missed her child immediately met Malin at the dock.
Mother's Malin saw a husband and wife in fancy clothes getting off the boat. They are accompanied by servants. His mother was convinced that the rich man was her child, because there was a scar on the back of the rich merchant's right hand. Hurriedly, Malin's mother approached the child she had missed.
"My son, Malin, I miss you so much, why don't you go home ...?" said Malin's mother, hugging her child.
Malin was very surprised because there was a shabby old woman hugging his body. He let go of the old woman's arms and threw her into the ship's rumbling.
"Who is she, honney?" asked Malin's wife in confusion.
"I also does not know," answered Malin. Though he knew that the woman was his biological mother, but he was ashamed to admit to his wife.
"Malin, why are you like that, this is your mother ... this is the mother who gave birth to you," said Malin's mother.
"Not ! you lie. How could I have a mother who looks like a beggar like you! " Malin replied in a raised voice.
Malin's mother was very sad to hear the confession of her own child. Sobbing, she got off the ship.
"You really have the heart to my child. You have been disobedient to your mother. Let you be a stone! " said the old mother, crying.
Malin Kundang and his men left the dock. Suddenly lightning struck and large waves hit the large ship. The ship was destroyed and Malin Kundang's body slowly turned into stone. Malin Kundang regretted his actions, but it was too late, because Malin Kundang had been disobedient and became a stone.
